BreakPoint was formed in November of 1997 with a goal of providing the very best in musical entertainment to their audiences. Their unique blend and versatility allow them to perform a wide range of musical styles from barbershop standards to modern doo-wop and vocal jazz arrangements from the 40's and 50's to gospel tunes. In October of 1998, they were crowned Land O' Lakes District Quartet Champions of The Barbershop Harmony Society. |

District Champs!Breakpoint was crowned CHAMPIONS of the Land O' Lakes District on October 24, 1998!! They were judged the best quartet out of the 200-some quartets in the district, which covers five states and two Canadian provinces. (Check out the the official scores.)

Paul Fladland, the tenor of the group, has a wealth of
entertainment experience dating back to his time with
country/rock bands in the 80's. His stylistic guitar playing is
used in some of the quartet's performance. He has also sung in
several barbershop and gospel groups.
He spent two years as a full-time
professional musician and also sang with the quartet,
Taylor Made. He now works at
Schmitt Music
in Fargo.

The lead singer in BreakPoint is
Brent Gerber. Brent is the
musical director of Fargo-Moorhead's male chorus,
Great Plains Harmony.
He has sung in several barbershop quartets, winning the
LOL
title with The People's Choice in 1992.
He is a Marketing Consultant in the
insurance industry.

Singing baritone is Jeff Grieve, a former music educator who has
also sung in a variety of barbershop quartets in recent years.
You'll enjoy his solo voice, featured in several of the quartet's
numbers.
Jeff also sang with
Taylor Made quartet. He now works for
U.S. Bank.

Pete Benson, bass.
Every a capella group needs a foundation and Pete Benson
certainly provides this by singing bass with BreakPoint. Pete is
currently the Director of Choral Music at the
North Dakota State College of Science, and
formerly was
the director of Fargo-Moorhead Sweet Adelines.
He recently became the director of the
Great Northern Union (GNU) chorus
from the Hilltop Chapter in Minneapolis.
Pete's quartet experience includes winning
the LOL District championship in 1995
with State of the Art.
