Hello folks,

We would like to get some information out to band parents and know how much your website is being utilized these days. If you think it's appropriate, could you put the following information on your site?

Parents who were chaperones on the buses last weekend are being encouraged to attend a "stress debriefing" next Monday, October 24th at 5:30 in the high school library. Other caregivers at the scene are also invited to attend. The debriefing involves processing, supporting each other, and learning about possible physical and psychological symptoms that are sometimes experienced after witnessing or being involved in a traumatic experience. It is highly recommended that those involved take part in this process. Luther-Midelfort staff will be providing the debriefing and the school district will provide food and refreshments.

We recognize that many other "band parents" have also been through an emotionally draining experience. We will be mailing information about the possible effects of this kind of stress and community resources that are available to help those who are struggling. If you wish to meet as a group and go through a similar process of decompressing after this distressing event, the guidance staff is willing to make arrangements.
